The Greeting Card Maven

Who is the Greeting Card Maven

February 24th, 2006 by roz

My name is Roz Fruchtman. I am the self-proclaimed Greeting Card Maven. As well… I am the owner/designer of:

Graphics Schmaphics Exclusive Judaic Greetings Club…
Judaic eCards for “Busy” People!

My ultimate passion is to provide:

  • a unique, artsy and tasteful way for the Jewish Community to communicate
  • an easy resource for non-Jews to be able to communicate with their Jewish friends, relatives, loved ones, business associates and prospective clients
  • by letting them know when each holiday begins and ends
  • what is appropriate to send for each holiday and/or occasion
  • answer questions they may have as to what is proper and what is not

What gives me the right?

Five or so years ago I discovered an untapped talent for digital design. Not being religious or coming from a graphically creative background it seems like a miracle at best that I would be designing Judaic digital art or any digital art at all.

The thing that mystifies me the most is that no matter how much rejection I receive from those seeking free designs I do not give up — Like most… I have to work to eat and this is my way of doing that! The only problem is that the site has never supported me and I have eaten up my entire savings with little or no income from my designs!

I keep telling myself there must be a reason for doing this, but I have yet to find one that is rational. Perhaps I really am destined to make a difference through my art, however, I rather not do it by living in the street! This is no joke! I am beginning to think I am more crazy than artistic. Isn’t the definition of crazy: “doing the same thing and expecting a different result!”

NOTE: On the good side:

  • I have discovered an artistically creative, deep feeling individual who I never knew lived within, however, like very much
  • I learned to be grateful daily and appreciative of those blessings of which I am lucky to be the recipient!
  • I have learned to take inspiration and guidance from wherever it comes without questioning why
  • As well, I have become more adept at designing and even draw simple images to scan into Photoshop for enhancement.

Not being trained in any of this it truly is mystical!

What makes me special and/or a Greeting Card Maven?

Now this is something I can answer with sincerity and honesty. I discovered during 911 that my designs are a product — are motivated by — of my deep feelings of emotion and compassion for others. I do not consider myself that unique and feel: “IF I am feeling a certain way, so are others, or they may or will be at one time or another in their lives, or they know someone who is or may. So I design with that feeling in mind! I call this my inspiration. Because my own life has taken some very strange turns in the last four-five years, it has put me in different positions and I suppose you could say: “These days I am walking in many other’s shoes! There is no way to feel other’s pain, frustration, bewilderment or fear unless you have been there! Don’t let anyone tell you differently!

Perhaps this is really all happening for a reason!
